28 September 2020 | Chartiers Valley Primary School
Dear Primary School Families,

Fall is here and we are very excited about the upcoming opportunities it will bring for our PS students!  We hope to have students out on our Nature Trail learning about science, practicing mindfulness, and enjoying the beautiful weather.

Please remind students to protect their iPad in their backpack by placing their red folder in front of their device to help keep the screen safe.  We appreciate your help with this!

We are happy to welcome Prevention Specialist Jenea Edwards back to CVPS.  Ms. Edwards joins us through our partnership with the University of Pittsburgh’s Maximizing Adolescent Potentials (MAPS) program.  Ms. Edwards will be applying social emotional learning in the form of classroom lessons again this year. The Second Step Program is a research-based social emotional learning curriculum.  Social emotional learning teaches children techniques to gain confidence, set goals, make better decisions, collaborate with others in work and play, and navigate the world more effectively.

As always, thank YOU for all that you do to support our students, our teachers and our CVPS Family. We truly appreciate the positive emails and support that we have received as we work together to navigate the circumstances we are facing.

Sincerely,

Anissa Rosenwald, Principal
Marc Hubert, Assistant Principal

Afternoon Pick-Up Update:
Please watch for communication coming this week about updated dismissal information starting October 5, 2020.

As a reminder, if you are planning to pick up your child in the afternoon, you must complete the Online Pick Up form before 1:30 that day.  We have twice as many students being picked up this year.  Completing the form prior to 1:30 will help us to ensure the safety of your child.  We appreciate your support with this.

Free Meals
Chartiers Valley School District is now offering FREE breakfast and FREE lunch to every student, every school day. This includes to-go meals for students learning virtually.
