The cooler weather has arrived! Please send your child to school with jackets, gloves and hats, too. We plan to have outdoor recess as often as possible. As long as the temperature is above 32 degrees, it is likely that we will have outdoor recess so please be sure that your child is appropriately dressed.

Children’s Grief Awareness Day: November 21, 2019
The CVPS is A Caring Team School!
To celebrate the day, the students will participate in Backwards Blue Day on Thursday, November 21! Students are encouraged to WEAR LOTS OF BLUE and WEAR CLOTHES BACKWARDS.

We will have a Fun Photo Booth Session that day where students can have their pictures taken in groups with silly props!

Later this year, we will hold our annual “Shoot to Score Students vs Staff Hockey Challenge” during recess to help raise funds for The Caring Place. Highmark will match CVPS dollar for dollar raised to help support The Caring Place. (NOTE: There is no need to send donations in just yet!)

Thank you for your support!

Study Buddy Volunteer Opportunity
The Study Buddy Program connects community members looking for a meaningful volunteer experience with students at the Primary school in need of extra one on one attention. The adult buddy helps the student with their academics twice a week for 45 minutes in our school's library. The resulting relationship has a great positive impact on both the child and the mentor. Training will be provided. Clearances are required but the cost can be covered if needed. Please call school counselor, Megan Mouas, if you are interested or if you have questions about the program, (412)429-7016. Megan Mouas will walk you through the process.
