Jackets, Hats and Gloves
The cooler weather has arrived! Please send your child to school with jackets, gloves and hats, too. We plan to have outdoor recess as often as possible. As long as the temperature is above 32 degrees, it is likely that we will have outdoor recess so please be sure that your child is appropriately dressed.

Is your child’s anti-bullying Tuesday T-shirt too small? Or is it faded? Or do you simply want an extra one so you don’t have to do laundry so often? We have a few smalls, mediums and larges available for purchase for only $10 each. If you are interested in purchasing a shirt that your child will wear every Tuesday for the entire school year, please send $10 cash in an envelope to school with your child. Be sure to write your child’s name and size on the outside of the envelope. We have less than 30 shirts for sale, so if you are interested, act fast!

Picture Retakes
Lifetouch will be back at the PS on Wednesday, November 13 for picture retakes.
Kids of Steel Sign-Up is Open
Welcome to year 6 of our Kids of Steel Running Program at CVPS. We are very fortunate to receive funding to buy race day shirts for the students who are registered by November 15, 2019. Anyone that signs up after November 15 will NOT be guaranteed a shirt for race day. Running Practices will be before school on Wednesdays at 8:00 am starting January 8 and will continue until the Kids of Steel One Mile Run on Saturday, May 2 in downtown Pittsburgh.

Needed: Candy for Blizzard Bags
Do you have extra or unwanted candy? If so, we have a wonderful way for you to help out and give back to your community. You can send it in to the PS main office to go in Blizzard Bags! Each year before the weather gets inclimate, Southwest Meals on Wheels delivers Blizzard Bags to each client. The purpose of the bags is to provide enough food for each client in the event that weather prevents Meals on Wheels from delivering food to them. The bags usually contain water, canned fruit and veggies, toilet paper, tissues, peanut butter, cookies, etc. They also include candy and crackers. Please send your extra candy to school with your child for our collection in the main office. We will be donating it to Southwest Meals on Wheels. If you have any questions about this program, please call Mari Murphy at 412-445-9602.
