City Hall to host Okimaw Awards ceremony

Edmontonians are invited to observe the inaugural Okimaw Awards ceremony, recognizing Indigenous men who have contributed positively to the broader community and demonstrated the traits and values inherent in traditional Indigenous leaders and visionaries. 

Date: Friday, November 18
Time: 11:30 a.m.
Location: City Room, City Hall, 1 Sir Winston Churchill Square 

‘Okimaw’ is a Cree word signifying Chief or Leader. Award categories include Service & Public Safety, Cultural Revitalization, and Human Rights & Advocacy. The event is coordinated by grassroots community founder Janice Randhile and the Okimaw Awards Committee.
