City announces sites for Pop-up Dog Parks
May 15, 2023

The City is excited to share the 19 locations selected for temporary Pop-up Dog Parks.

Neighbourhoods considered during the Phase 1 Public Engagement survey were identified as high need for an off-leash area. The results of the survey can be found in the What We Heard report. In addition to the survey, the City consulted with Community Leagues, utility companies and other internal stakeholders to ensure there are no conflicts with other projects or current formal recreational purposes.

Pop-up Dog Parks begin opening in mid-May and operate until November, weather permitting. Residents can share feedback about their experience visiting or living near a Pop-up Dog Park through the online survey or a paper survey at one of the Pop-up Dog Park locations until October 1.

All Pop-up Dog Parks will have dog waste bags and dispensers, garbage cans and signage that includes the responsibilities of dog owners and clearly identified boundaries. Residents can also contact 311 with any immediate inquiries or concerns about these parks.
