City celebrates Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day
March 18, 2024

Today, March 18, the City of Edmonton commemorates National Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day. Recognition extends until March 22 with a week of gratitude. Join us in recognizing and celebrating transit workers’ valuable role in supporting mobility by connecting tens of thousands of riders to their destinations each day.

ETS operators, supporting staff and service partners, including those providing service on buses, LRT, DATS, or On Demand Transit, are committed to high-quality service, giving a positive experience to our riders.

Every day, whether it’s driving a vehicle, providing maintenance and repairs, or taking steps to enhance the transit experience, all transit workers strive to provide riders with safe, convenient and reliable transit service that keeps Edmonton moving. As part of recognition week, visit edmonton.ca/ets/transit-news to learn more about the experience of an ETS operator.

Public transit is a key component of the City Plan and the City of Edmonton’s Climate Adaptation and Energy Transition plans. By working together, we can create a transit system that contributes to key City goals, including prioritizing regional connection, regional prosperity and climate resilience.
