City invites input on community sandboxes, property assessments, and the Old Strathcona Public Realm Strategy
February 13, 2023

The City of Edmonton invites residents’ input into projects, policies and initiatives that grow our communities, establish government services and prepare our city for the future. Below are current opportunities for Edmontonians to shape their city.

Changing neighbourhoods to meet changing needs:
  • Community Sandboxes Program. The City seeks feedback from residents about the Community Sandbox Program. Residents can share their thoughts through an online survey until March 7 at engaged.edmonton.ca/communitysandboxes, as well as at in-person public engagement sessions. Look for the QR code posters located on community sandboxes.

Building a stronger economy and increasing prosperity:
  • Nighttime Economy Survey - Post-Secondary Students. Post-secondary students are invited to share their thoughts on how they participate in and experience the city’s nighttime economy. The survey is available until February 20 at edmonton.ca/surveys.
  • Property Assessment Satisfaction Survey. Property owners are invited to share their thoughts and opinions on the services and information they received from the City about property assessment. Complete the online survey by March 24 at edmonton.ca/surveys.

Defining what Edmonton will look like in the future:
  • We’re gathering feedback on the Old Strathcona Public Realm Strategy and how we can improve public spaces in Old Strathcona, including a future Mass Transit route on Whyte Avenue. Help ensure our plazas, parks, paths, roadways, sidewalks and alleys support people and their needs as we grow. Edmontonians are invited to share their ideas for Whyte Avenue and publicly-owned lands next to Gateway Boulevard. The online survey is available until March 5. Visit edmonton.ca/OldStrathPublicRealm to provide your feedback.
  • February Mixed Topic Survey. Edmontonians can provide their input on Property Assessment Customer Satisfaction, Downtown Holiday Tree, WinterCity Strategy and Old Strathcona Public Realm Strategy Opt-in as part of the monthly mixed topic survey available from February 14-21. Please visit edmonton.ca/surveys to share your thoughts.
