May 10, 2023
Just in time for the long weekend, Edmontonians will be able to experience outdoor swimming for summer 2023 when Fred Broadstock Outdoor Pool opens Saturday, May 20, weather permitting.
Queen Elizabeth will open on Tuesday, May 30, Oliver Outdoor Pool will open on Saturday, June 3 and Borden Natural Swimming Pool will open Saturday June 10. Mill Creek Outdoor Pool remains closed to the public for the duration of the season as rehabilitation continues and is anticipated to reopen in 2024.
Patrons can guarantee fast access to public swim at the time of their choosing by reserving a swim time on
movelearnplay.ca prior to visiting. While reservations are not required, they are encouraged to avoid lines during public swims and enhance the overall experience. Reservations are not available for lane swimming. Swim start times and schedules are also available to view on Move Learn Play. There will be four timed entry opportunities at each site during the day. Drop-in access will be dependent on the site capacity minus the timed entry opportunities.
Timed entries will be available 7 days in advance starting May 13 for Fred Broadstock opening May 20.
Children 12 years and younger can access outdoor pools for free. Admission to these pools is included with all City of Edmonton Recreation Centre
memberships including the
Summer Youth Pass which becomes available for purchase starting June 19. Otherwise regular 2023 admission prices apply.
Operating hours are subject to change and pools may close due to inclement weather. Check
Facility Notifications for the latest outdoor pool status. The status is updated daily at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
