Based on feedback from Edmontonians, Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) has made its first round of adjustments to the new bus network that launched April 25.
Since the launch, more than 1,000 transit users have provided valuable feedback about what was working and what could be improved. In total, over 40 different service adjustments took effect on June 27 to help shorten layovers, increase efficiencies in scheduling, improve connections and provide better service for seniors. Additional adjustments will come into effect on August 29.
“We’re grateful for the feedback we’ve received so far,” said Carrie Hotton-MacDonald, Branch Manager, ETS. “This is Edmontonians’ bus network, and I want them to know that every piece of feedback is being carefully considered. We’re committed to listening and making improvements where possible to help Edmontonians access their city.”
Some of the adjustments include offsetting route schedules to provide better service on main corridors like Whyte Avenue and Jasper Avenue, refining morning and evening trips to improve consistency across weekdays and weekends and adjusting trips to better align with travel demand.
Based on thoughtful feedback from essential shift workers, many late night Owl schedules were also revised, along with starting service at 5 a.m. on some routes, to improve connections and transfers in downtown.

Work on redesigning Edmonton’s bus network started in 2017, and tens of thousands of Edmontonians provided their input during one of the City’s largest public engagement initiatives in 2018. The network, launched April 25, 2021, reflects what we heard from Edmontonians about wanting more frequent, more direct and better connected service.
