ETS adjusts service in response to rider feedback and demand
January 28, 2022

Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) is committed to monitoring, listening and adjusting service based on data, public feedback and ridership demand in order to meet riders’ needs. As a result, the following service adjustments are being implemented for February.

Mid-Winter Service Changes
Starting February 6, ETS’ mid-winter service adjustments begin. Five times each year, ETS reviews transit rider feedback, schedules, service levels and routes to ensure ETS is providing the right amount of service at the right time.
The following routes will experience changes: 4, 7, 8, 9, 107, 117, 120X, 121, 506, 684, 716, 719, 900X 902, 924 and 940X.

On Demand Transit Service Update
To better serve rider needs, ETS is adjusting its On Demand Transit service to include more neighborhoods within its allocated budget.

Starting February 14, On Demand Transit is adding service to The Hills at Charlesworth neighbourhood, with a destination of Mill Woods Transit Centre. On Demand Transit will service bus stops at the following locations:
  • Stop #3917 - Mill Woods Transit Centre Bay Q
  • Stop #99058 - 38 Street & Charlesworth Drive SW
  • Stop #99059 - 38 Street & Charlesworth Drive SW
  • Stop #99193 - 39 Street & Charlesworth Drive SW
  • Stop #99194 - 39 Street & Charlesworth Drive SW

Also starting on February 14, On Demand Transit riders going to/from the communities of Henderson Estates and Falconer Heights can request service to/from Leger Transit Centre.

Ongoing staffing impacts
The Omicron variant of COVID-19 continues to have an impact on the transit workforce. As a result, short-term, temporary adjustments to service continue in the February schedule change. These adjustments do not impact LRT, DATS or on demand transit service.

A full listing of bus service adjustments is available at edmonton.ca/TransitAlerts. 311 and trip planning tools (Transit app, Google Maps, edmonton.ca/transit) will have updated schedules soon. Please note: trip planning tools are up-to-date with changes that took effect earlier this month.
