Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) mid-winter service changes will be in effect starting Sunday, February 5. These changes are part of the regular service adjustments ETS makes five times a year based on transit rider feedback, performance data and seasonal changes in ridership.
Due to higher traffic volumes and construction activity, the City is adjusting some route schedules to improve travel times and service reliability. Additional changes are outlined below.
Starting February 5, there will be several adjustments to LRT service frequency. Capital Line trains will run:
- Every six minutes during peak hours (6 - 9 a.m. and 2 - 6 p.m.) on weekdays
- Every 10 minutes between 5 - 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on weekdays
- Every 15 minutes after 6 p.m. on weekdays
- Every 15 minutes on weekends
Metro Line trains will run:
- Every 12 minutes during peak hours (6 - 9 a.m. and 2 - 6 p.m.) on weekdays
- Every 15 minutes during midday hours (9 a.m. - 2p.m.) on weekdays
- Every 15 minutes after 6 p.m. on weekdays
- Every 15 minutes on weekends
Route 561
Starting February 5, Route 561 will be cancelled and replaced with Spruce Grove’s On Demand service. Commuters will be able to access Acheson from Spruce Grove by using Route 560 between Spruce Grove and Edmonton.
Holiday/School Service Changes
Transit service is reduced on holidays and in alignment with public, Catholic and post-secondary school calendars.
- On Family Day (February 20), buses will run regular Saturday service.
- During Reading Week (February 21-24), buses will run regular weekday service, except for the cancellation of several trips on routes serving postsecondary institutions such as the Route 4 and Route 622.
- During Teachers' Convention on March 2 and 3, public and Catholic school service will be cancelled, with the exception of Route 622. All other buses will continue to run regular weekday service
- On March 23 and 24, Catholic school trips have been adjusted to reflect the change in early dismissal times.
- During Spring Break (March 27-31), public and Catholic school service will be cancelled, with the exception of Route 622. All other buses will continue to run regular weekday service.
- On Good Friday (April 7), buses will run regular Sunday service.
- On Easter Monday (April 10), public and Catholic school service, as well as several Route 4 trips, will be cancelled. All other buses will continue to run regular weekday service
- On February 21, March 13 and April 28, public school service will be cancelled due to professional development days. All other buses will continue to run regular weekday service.
Other service changes

Lakewood - Due to construction, three bus stops (#3004, #3009 and #3008) will temporarily close on February 1. As a result, several routes will be moved to other locations:
- Route 512 EB will now stop at #3001
- Route 513 WB will now stop at #3012
- Route 661 WB will now stop at #3011

Route 110X and 120X - Bus stops have been added along 97 St. at 122 Ave. and 127 Ave.

Route 73 - Frequency has been reduced to every five minutes during peak hours.
