Starting at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 10, until 6 a.m. Monday, August 14, Groat Road will be closed from 107 Avenue to River Valley Road as Marigold Infrastructure Partners (MIP) install girders to support the new Stony Plain Road bridge. The Groat Road shared-use path will be closed from 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023, to 6 a.m. Saturday, August 19, to accommodate this work. Replacement of the Stony Plain Road bridge is required for the Valley Line West LRT project.
All travellers—including drivers, cyclists and pedestrians—are advised to take alternate routes and follow signage in the area. Drivers are reminded to give themselves extra travel time.
Vehicle detours include Victoria Park Road, 149 Street to Whitemud Drive and 109 Street to High Level Bridge. Northbound and southbound pedestrian and bicycle traffic should use 102 Avenue to Victoria Promenade and Ramsay Ravine near Government House Park as a detour.
Please exercise caution and follow all construction signage in the area. The City thanks motorists, pedestrians and cyclists for their patience while we work to complete this transformative project.
