Help eliminate racism in Edmonton
October 17, 2022

The City of Edmonton is recruiting members of the public to join the Anti-Racism Independent Body Advisory Board (Advisory Board). The Advisory Board provides advice and recommendations to Edmonton’s City Manager about the establishment and function of an independent anti-racism body to oversee anti-racism for Edmontonians. The Advisory Board will be made of up to fifteen members, which includes two City of Edmonton staff.

This Advisory Board is part of the City’s Anti-Racism Strategy, which is designed to bring our community together to improve equity, end poverty, eliminate racism and make clear progress towards Truth and Reconciliation. We acknowledge that this is complex and multifaceted work and are developing a number of different approaches to address that complexity head on. Together, we will create a city—a home—where every individual, in all their unique diversity, belongs.

You can apply to be a member of the Anti-Racism Independent Body Advisory Board through a posting on edmonton.ca/jobs. The deadline to apply is November 7.

Please visit edmonton.ca/antiracismstrategy for more information about the strategy.
