Okîsikow (Angel) Way Day in Edmonton
June 13, 2022

Edmontonians are invited to join this year’s Okîsikow (Angel) Way Day event, led by a volunteer steering committee of community organizations and individuals including Ayana Communications, The Butterfly Project, Mackintosh Consulting, Stolen Sisters & Brothers Action Movement, The Centre to End All Sexual Exploitation (CEASE), and iHuman Youth Society.

Date: Tuesday, June 14
Time: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Location: 101A Ave & 97 Street

"okîsikow" means "angel" in Cree. Okîsikow Way honours all women and gender diverse people who have experienced violence and those who continue to suffer. Edmonton became one of the first major cities in Canada to show support for the national movement, The Angel Street Project, by naming a street in downtown Edmonton “Okîsikow (Angel) Way” in 2011.

All are welcome to attend and support the development of safe places where support and shelter can be found.
