Parking Ban Phase 1 (Major roads) ends November 28 at 7 a.m.

November 27, 2024

Phase 1 parking ban will be lifted Thursday, November 28, at 7 a.m., for roadways including freeways, arterial roadways and business districts. The parking ban was required for less than four days as both City and contractor crews cleared snow and ice accumulation from arterial roads, collector roads, bus routes, active pathways and roads within business improvement areas. Ongoing maintenance and the application of traction materials continue as required.

The City is not activating a phase 2 parking ban for residential and industrial roads at this time. City crews continue to work 24 hours a day to address additional snow accumulation and traction concerns as they maintain more than 12,000 km of roadways and 500 km of active pathways.

The City encourages residents to report winter road concerns through 311. This helps us to identify trends, coordinate responses and ensure the most efficient service delivery.
