Police commission member recruitment underway

Edmonton City Council is recruiting for a new member to join the Edmonton Police Commission (EPC). The candidate will have demonstrated experience, education and knowledge in governance, oversight and board operations and have an understanding of public accountability and scrutiny in a public setting.

The EPC is committed to making Edmonton a safe and vibrant city today and in the future. It oversees the police service, ensuring the provision of professional and ethical policing services to the citizens of Edmonton. 

The EPC is made up of dedicated Edmontonians with varied skills, backgrounds and experience. EPC members have the opportunity to use their governance expertise and diverse perspectives to provide effective oversight of the Edmonton Police Service. Being a member of the EPC provides the opportunity to sharpen leadership and business skills and gain a broader understanding of municipal government processes. 

Those interested in supporting the vision of the commission to create a safe and vibrant city are encouraged to apply online with a cover letter outlining their vision for policing, résumé and two letters of reference. The deadline to apply is September 22.
