Property assessment notices will be sent out January 16, 2023
January 3, 2023

City of Edmonton 2023 property assessment notices will be sent out to property owners on January 16. In 2022, the notice date was moved to mid-January to reduce overlap with the holiday season. The City will continue this schedule going forward.

Assessment notices contain important information about a property’s value and help to ensure each property owner pays their fair share of property taxes in 2023. City Council set the overall tax increase for 2023 when they approved the 2023-2026 budget in December. Property assessments are the next step in the property taxation cycle. Property tax notices will be mailed to property owners in May, as usual.

“Our assessment values are based on a property’s market value as of July 1, 2022,” explained Cate Watt, Branch Manager, Assessment & Taxation. “We encourage all property owners to review their assessment values and contact us via 311 if they have any concerns. Our assessors can help to address any questions about individual assessments.”

Assessment information will also be posted to the myproperty.edmonton.ca website on January 16, so that Edmontonians can easily access all of their assessment and tax information online. To sign up for an account and receive electronic assessment and tax notices, visit myproperty.edmonton.ca.
