The City of Edmonton’s Monthly Payment Plan (MPP) enables residential property owners to pay their taxes monthly, rather than in one annual payment every June. The MPP gives property owners peace of mind with a convenient way to pay through automatic withdrawals on the first of each month–say goodbye to late or forgotten payments.
It’s now easier and faster to join the MPP. Property owners can download application forms pre-filled with their property information directly through their MyProperty online account.
The best time to join the MPP is before December 15, for the upcoming tax year (January 1 - December 31). If a property owner joins after the tax year has already started, they must make up the equivalent of their missed payments from the previous months, as well as an administration fee.
“By signing up for the Monthly Payment Plan before December 15, property owners can ensure their first payment is withdrawn on January 1, 2025 and avoid any missed payments or administration fees,” explained Stephen Leroux, Director of Taxation Operations. “Property owners are now able to simply download and fill out their MPP application through MyProperty and email our team for processing.”
