FSMA Produce Safety Rule Pre-Harvest Agricultural Water Update Webinars

Beginning in December 2024, the Produce Safety Alliance (PSA) has been hosting webinars on the revised requirements for Pre-Harvest Agricultural Water (Subpart E) in the FSMA Produce Safety Rule in English and Spanish to ensure past PSA Grower Training (GT) and PSA Train-the-Trainer (TTT) participants understood the new pre-harvest agricultural water requirements. Due to demand, additional webinars have been scheduled through August 2025.

Each upcoming webinar will contain similar information to what was presented in 2024, so you only need to attend one webinar to get the new information

Each two-hour webinar includes a presentation of the new requirements and compliance dates, and a discussion of new or revised PSA resources. There is time to answer questions, both submitted before the webinar and those that arise during the webinar. Registration is required; there is no cost to attend. Registration for each webinar is limited to the first 500 registrants. A certificate of completion is emailed to webinar participants who attend one full session.

List of upcoming webinars in English:

·      May 8, 2025, 12-2 pm ET.

·      July 10, 2025, 2-4 pm ET.

List of upcoming webinars in Spanish:

·      Apr 11, 2025, 3-5 pm ET.

·      June 5, 2025, 12-2 pm ET.

These video presentations are a recorded version of the FSMA Produce Safety Rule Pre-Harvest Agricultural Water Update Webinars. The same content is covered and you receive the same certificate of completion.

Video presentation of Revised Module 5-1

This video presentation of Revised Module 5-1 (Version 1.2a) updates the pre-harvest agricultural water requirements that were released in May 2024. Updated PSR Required Records Templates

(English and Spanish)

The PSA Team has worked very hard to provide the most up to date information when it comes to changes in the PSR Subpart E, Pre-harvest Agricultural Water. This includes updating the current required record templates that have been available to trainers and growers. Here you will find links to both the English and Spanish updated Required Record Templates.

Records Required by the FSMA Produce Safety Rule

The FSMA Produce Safety Rule (PSR) requires a few specific records. This publication summarizes the provisions requiring records and includes template records to help establish records to meet FSMA PSR requirements. Growers may want or need to keep additional records to ensure that required practices are being carried out correctly, to meet buyer requirements, and/or participate in a third-party audit. Other documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), may be helpful to support the implementation of practices on the farm.

English Templates

"Produce Safety Webinar Series: Beyond the Wash...

How Research Shapes Postharvest Water Safety"

Join the CONTACT team in their upcoming webinar. Postharvest water plays a critical role in produce packing operations, yet it remains a documented vector for cross-contamination. Dump tanks, flumes, and other water immersion systems can serve as reservoirs for foodborne pathogens if antimicrobial concentrations are not adequately maintained. Through a series of targeted research experiments, this webinar aims to provide an overview of the science and recommendations for antimicrobial use and management in postharvest water systems to mitigate cross-contamination risks in packinghouses. Make sure to stay for the live-only Q&A.
