PSA Insights
Greetings colleagues!

Throughout my poultry science career, I have had the opportunity to work in government, industry, and academia. Through all of these experiences and amazing adventures, I I have become a more well-rounded poultry scientist who can serve as a scientific resource and mentor. My passion has always been teaching and empowering people in the field of poultry science. Throughout my career I have been honored to mentor the next generation of leaders. My experiences, expertise and commentary on industry topics were highlighted in last September’s edition of Meatingplace magazine on page 48, “Wing Woman”. I’m not sharing this to tout my own horn. I’m sharing this because PSA is looking to highlight our members who have been recognized for their passionate hard work, achievements, and awards.   The Poultry Peeps submission form is relatively new. Through it we hope to collect the latest news regarding the membership of PSA. What are your achievements? Accomplishments? Maybe just a big story? Tell us about it! We all have a story to share, and the more we share, the more impact we have on others.

Furthermore, I have also really enjoyed my time volunteering with the association, otherwise known as “my work family”. Volunteering is a great way to use your talents and participate in our organization. If you have an interest in using your talents and serving in any capacity (on a committee or helping to review articles), we want you! If you are unsure where to begin, journal reviewers are always needed to help review the latest research slated for publication in our journals. If you are interested in volunteering as a reviewer, I encourage you to submit your CV to David Busboom at the PSA office. If you have other talents that can help our organization, let me or Jon Cole know, and we can let you of all the opportunities available for volunteers.
I look forward to seeing y’all later this summer in Louisville for the 2020 PSA Annual Meeting!
