We are in the process of finalizing the New PSA Hatchery Structure which includes new committees: Educational and Career development, Social activities, Social media, and Projects innovation
As a sneak peek, here’s a quick list of our main goals for the year:
- Increase PSA student membership and engagement through enhanced social media presence (Follow and Promote our page on Facebook and LinkedIn platforms)
- Increase awareness and accessibility of scholarships and other opportunities offered by PSA to student members
- Enhance the impact of the PSA Annual Meeting for students, particularly regarding networking opportunities
While these are our primary objectives at this time, we welcome your ideas, feedback, and questions! If you have thoughts about other areas that the PSA Hatchery can improve upon or would like to participate in a committee, please reach out and let us know - we want to hear from you!

More Accurate Predictions of Immune System Function Through Japanese Quail Study
A new study from The Journal of Applied Poultry Research shows that factoring in non-additive effects may improve humoral immunity (antibody protection) in flocks. The study looks at data from six generations of Japanese quail where the researchers found that adding non-additive genetic effects to breeding models could improve predictions for antibody production.

Egg Industry Center
Researchers from across the U.S. and Canada are invited to submit their innovative ideas for consideration in the 2022 Egg Industry Center (EIC) Grant Award Program. On average, researchers making the full proposal stage have a more than 50% chance of having their project funded. The deadline for this year's two-page pre-proposals is December 16, 2022. Submission details can be found in the Egg Industry Center's Request For Proposal.
The EIC Research Grant Program is open to researchers in various disciplines. This research is crucial to providing trusted scientific answers which help ensure a sustainable society where eggs and their high-quality protein remains available for a growing population. The Egg Industry Center is committed to continuing to help the research community provide answers to U.S. egg farmers, their customers and consumers.
