PSC Athletics debuts new soccer complex with ribbon cutting and inaugural home game


Coaches, athletes, boosters, board members and many more gathered to celebrate the opening of the new soccer stadium at Pensacola State College with an official ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by the inaugural home match for PSC Women’s Soccer, on Thursday, Sept. 3.The new soccer complex, located at the corner of Underwood and Tippin avenues on the Pensacola campus, was designed by Sam Marshall Architects and built by Morette Company, the project’s general contractor. The lighted complex currently features an NCAA regulation-size natural turf field, a scoreboard, restrooms, concessions and bleacher seating. 

Debbie Douma honored with United Way Service Award


Debbie Douma, Ed.D., dean of Grants and Federal Programs at PSC, was honored with the United Way Service Award during the United Way of West Florida’s Annual Celebration on Friday, Aug. 21. One of the organization’s highest individual honors, the award recognizes her exemplary leadership and outstanding commitment to volunteer service with the organization.

PSC staff part of award-winning 48-Hour Film Project production


The 48 Hour Film Project is a competition that challenges participants to write, shoot and edit a short film in a weekend. One of the award-winning production teams to compete in the 2026 Pensacola 48 Hour Film Project included nine PSC employees, students and alumni. Their production, “Missed Shot,” is a romantic comedy that won Best Acting Ensemble and Best Use of Character. Additionally, Ben Word was nominated for Best Cinematography and Rachel Blackwelder was nominated for Best Supporting Actress.

PSC welcomes Jeff Revette as new Visual Arts Department head


Mississippi artist and educator Jeff Revette has been named head of the Visual Arts Department at PSC after serving as the chair and an assistant professor of the Department of Art at William Carey University.
