The Public Service Commission has scheduled four customer public hearings in Docket No. 2024-34-E, involving Dominion Energy South Carolina, LLC (“the Company”)’s application for authority to adjust and increase its retail electric rate schedules, tariffs, and terms and conditions. This filing includes a request for an increase to retail electric rates, and the Company’s application can be reviewed at this link.
These customer public hearings will be held in four locations across the state over four days (with a fifth date if needed to include all customers who preregister). The schedule follows:
- Thursday, May 30th at 6 p.m. in Aiken (Aiken County Government Chambers, 1930 University Parkway, 3rd Floor, Aiken, SC 29801)
- Monday, June 10th at 6 p.m. in Bluffton (Bluffton Town Council Chambers, 20 Bridge Street, Bluffton, SC 29910)
- Thursday, June 27th at 6 p.m. in North Charleston (Lonnie Hamilton III Public Services Building, Charleston County Council Chambers, 4045 Bridgeview Drive, North Charleston, SC 29405)
- Monday, July 8th from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. in Columbia (Public Service Commission Hearing Room, 101 Executive Center Drive, Columbia, SC 29210)

Registration for July 9th will only be available if all pre-registration slots for customer testimony on July 8th are filled.
In its application, the Company proposes an increase of $18.86 or 14.21% for residential customers, an increase of $2,002.25 or 12.32% for commercial customers, and an increase of $57,486.40 or 12.68% for industrial customers. In hosting these customer public hearings, the PSC seeks to hear from Dominion Energy South Carolina customers on the Company’s proposed new rates and their experiences with DESC as ratepayers.
