Educational Programs & Operations (EP&O) Supplemental Levy

On Tuesday, November 3, voters in Puyallup School District will be asked to consider an Educational Programs and Operations (EP&O) Supplemental Levy that would generate a maximum amount of $37 million over two years to help sustain school district operations.

Why now? Now is different.
The Puyallup School District is facing a significant budget deficit of $39.6 million over the next three years. Although the District has recently made significant administration and department reductions, the current school year alone has a $20 million deficit. This supplemental levy will help to minimize, not eliminate, the impact of our budget deficit.

REQUIRED: Daily Health Screening

Prior to arriving at school, a daily health screening of students by parents is required. The brief Electronic Health Screen Form can be accessed from a cell phone or computer.

Everyone (students, staff, vendors, parents, guardians, and visitors) entering a school district facility is required to complete a health screen prior to entry. Every morning BEFORE your child enters a school district building or boards the school bus, an electronic health screen form needs to be submitted. A link to this form is accessible here and is provided on the District website.

Schedule Now:  Early Entrance Kindergarten Assessments

Kindergarten Academy is a free, 20-week, early entrance kindergarten program available to families who reside within the Puyallup School District attendance boundaries.

Designed for children who turn five after August 31, 2020, this program offers support to children who have not had a formal preschool or other pre-kindergarten experience.

Depending on reopening school status, Kindergarten Academy will be offered January - June 2021 and located at several schools around the district.

Kindergarten Academy entrance assessments are being scheduled now. If you think Kindergarten Academy might meet your child’s needs, please call Marylee Avila at (253) 841-8784 to schedule an appointment to see if they qualify.
Ongoing:  New Student Registration

New student enrollment continues for ALL students entering Kindergarten, or new to the Puyallup School District. Families can register their children online at any time via the Student Registration & Enrollment Center on the District website.

Today the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction posted statewide data on K-12 enrollment. Compared to this time last year, data shows an almost 3% drop in enrollment statewide. Enrollment data is used to determine the amount of state funding we receive to help pay for staffing, materials, technology and other supports that help our students succeed.
