PSD Foundation awards over $12,000 in grants

For the first time since 2020, the Poudre School District Foundation awarded $12,000 in grants to educators for classroom programs related to workforce readiness, mental health, literacy, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. The new Impact grants of up to $2,000 are awarded to educators with programs that align to PSD’s priorities, including graduation with options, literacy and mental health and wellness.

Hundreds of origami boxes honor Coloradans lost to gun violence in new FCHS display 


Through a powerful collaboration between three Fort Collins High School (FCHS) clubs, a new display in the school library honors the 800 plus Coloradans who lost their lives to gun violence in 2021. The display features hundreds of origami boxes - folded and decorated by FCHS students - memorializing each death. Created in partnership with the national non-profit The Soul Box Project, the display is meant to promote empathy, healing and encourage a dialog about gun culture in Colorado. Read more >>

Dr. Temple Grandin shares her story, inspiring students at Dunn Elementary


Dr. Temple Grandin spoke with fifth-graders at Dunn Elementary School about being creative and how great it is to be "different and weird." She encouraged students to think in diverse ways, both visually and verbally, illustrating her point by describing how she sees life as a series of pictures. She reminded students that they should treat one another with kindness, especially those who might be different, and not worry about the process of learning.

Options for exemptions from quarantine

If staff or students are identified as close contacts of a COVID-positive individual and receive quarantine orders from the health department, there are three options for them to remain at school or work:

Option 1: Be fully vaccinated with a primary series and boosted, if eligible.

Option 2: Follow all steps of the Test to Stay in PSD program. Individuals opted into the state’s program can receive free, at-home rapid COVID tests. 

Option 3: Have record of a confirmed positive COVID test in the last 90 days.
