Six PSD schools awarded innovation grants


Fort Collins-based nonprofit OtterCares recently awarded nearly $70,000 in grants to six PSD schools. The grants will fund a student climate challenge project at Fossil Ridge, an Innovation Station at Harris Bilingual, 3D printing at Lincoln Middle School, a learning lab at Polaris, a Virtual Reality/Flight Simulator Makerspace refresh at Preston, and a technology upgrade for the theater at Timnath Middle-High School.

PSD is launching two new committees this spring: a Debt Free Mill Levy Oversight Committee to monitor implementation of the 2024 mill levy program, and a Comprehensive Planning Committee to focus on long-range planning in PSD. Apply through the Debt Free Mill Levy Oversight Committee or Comprehensive Planning Committee Google forms. Meet School Resource Officer Adam Brunjes


Adam Brunjes worked in marketing before changing careers to become a firefighter and then a police officer. Now, he patrols the halls of Fossil Ridge High School as a school resource officer, serving as a confidant, counselor, and protector of student safety.

School Board sessions start tonight


The Board of Education is hosting a series of informal community engagement sessions, starting with sessions tonight at Johnson and Bacon elementary schools. Both sessions will run simultaneously from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the schools' media centers. No RSVP is required and there is no set agenda. Find out when other listening sessions are scheduled.>>

School choice second round application open


The second school choice application period for the 2025-26 school year opened at 8 a.m. today and will remain open until the final month of the 2025-26 school year. Second-round applications are accepted based on the order in which they are received, priority rankings, and how many seats remain at a school. Learn more and apply on the school choice page.>>

On Dec. 18, Poudre and Thompson school districts and the Matthews House celebrated the grand opening of a youth shelter in Loveland. The Landing, which will officially open Jan. 27, is made possible through a community partnership.
