Fire prevention poster contest winners get a lift to school from PFA firefighters


Winning the 2024 Fire Prevention Month Poster Contest earned five PSD students the hottest ride in town - a trip to school on a Poudre Fire Authority fire engine! This year's contest winners are kindergartner Charlie Maye Papp from Werner; first grader Marley Gladu, second grader Carolynn McElvain, and third grader Bryson Gladu, all from PSD Global Academy; and fourth grader Jayden Morris from Bacon Elementary. Board of Education adopts 2025-26 calendar


Next year's school calendar will look much like the current calendar, with school beginning Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025 (the day after Transition Day for ninth-graders and sixth-graders), and the last day of school falling on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Learn more about next year's calendar.>>

Community members are invited to take part in a march and celebration event to mark Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 20. Through hands-on exhibits and dialogue with attendees, students highlighted their newfound skills and knowledge in the in-demand field they've chosen to study. At their Dec. 10 meeting, the PSD Board of Education recognized the achievements of the state champion Timnath Middle-High School girls track and cross country teams, two-time National Blue Ribbon Schools Award-winning Zach Elementary School, and TMHS student Drake Jenkins, whose heroic actions helped save a woman who became trapped under her car in a parking garage at Denver International Airport.
