Parent & Grandparent Summit provides opportunities to learn and connect
Dozens of Poudre School District parents, grandparents, staff, and partners gathered Saturday at Fort Collins High School to visit resource tables and hear from experts about various youth mental health and wellness topics. Each winter, fourth- and fifth-grade students from Poudre and Thompson school districts are invited to Moby Arena for a field trip favorite: Education Day! Students packed the stands Feb. 12 to cheer on the Colorado State University women's basketball team in their victory over Utah State University. The Comprehensive Planning Committee that will focus on long-range planning in PSD is taking applications for unfilled seats. Applications are being accepted for a parent or guardian with a child enrolled in a Timnath school and a parent or guardian with a child enrolled in a Wellington school. Apply online by March 7.
State tests to begin after spring break
The testing window for Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) assessments will be March 31-April 24, and PSAT and SAT testing is scheduled for April. Assessments help students, staff, and families track academic progress and adjust instruction. Visit the District and State Assessments web page to learn more.>>
Nominate a teacher for state honor
Did you know the last time a Poudre School District educator was named Colorado Teacher of the Year was 1991? The honor is long overdue to return to PSD. Anyone cannominate an outstanding PSD educator for 2026 Colorado Teacher of the Yearby completing a brief online survey. Nominations are due March 17, 2025.
During Spread the Love Week earlier this month, the Fort Collins High School community raised more than $21,000 to help make a 13-year-old's wish to visit the Great Barrier Reef come true in partnership with Make-a-Wish Colorado.
Webber Middle School students got to see movies they created come to life on the big screen during the school's second annual Family Film Night! Students made each of the movies shown at the event earlier this month at The Lyric.
Werner students picked up a passport and toured their choice of 10 countries last Thursday as part of their annual International Night. Students had fun sampling food, hearing presentations, and seeing clothes, coins, and other keepsakes.
Recent visitors to the Board of Education's meeting room at the Johannsen Support Services Center have certainly noticed a beautiful new addition to the space - a large mural designed by local artist Imani Samuel featuring a quote from Rocky Mountain High School student Juliet Atim.Imani spoke about the piece at a recent board meeting.>>
