First Lutheran Church, Monrovia, CA is hosting a Big Band Concert on Saturday, October 7 at 5:30 pm. On any given day, the members of Big Band Theory (The Smartest Band On the Planet) work at JPL with precision instruments such as rocket engines, robot rovers and spacecraft sensors. But on performance day, this band of Lab rats replaces the high-tech gizmos with trumpets, saxophones, trombones, drums and a piano. Concordia's annual Fall Festival of Hymns features audience members invited to sing along as choirs and organ lead with hymns old and new during this thoughtful and meaningful program titled "Sing Glory to the Name of God." On Saturday, October 7 from 4:00 - 5:30 pm experience Concordia's impressive Casavant pipe organ in an afternoon of singing that will be spiritually uplifting.

There are about 300 congregations, and 150 schools serving the communities of our District. Thousands of people of every age and background serving and being served. People like you through whom God is mightily at work. People whom the Pacific Southwest District partners with in our mission to resource congregations and schools to more effectively carry out the Great Commission. As we endeavor to partner with you in these efforts such as launching 100 new faith communities by our district's 100th anniversary in 2031.

Come join the Petal Pushers in decorating the 2024 "Celebrating a World of Music" Rose Parade floats. Petal Pushers is a group of over 5,000 volunteers that have been decorating for over 30 years to help bring life to the floats you see every New Years Day. The Lutheran Hour Ministries float has been a continuous participant, this year marks its 73rd year! Decoration dates begin as early as December 2 and continue through December 31.
