Stand-Down
Day!
ISRI invites all recycling companies to participate in Safety Stand-Down Day on Wednesday, June 14. This annual event asks companies to take one hour on each shift to celebrate their workforce and their health and safety programs.
Some ways ISRI members have celebrated Safety Stand-Down Day in the past include:
■ first aid and CPR training classes;
■ hazard recognition and awareness in the field;
■ mobile equipment blind spot education and training.
■ vehicle inspection education and training; and.
■ a review of your company’s lockout, tagout, tryout program.
Your company also could consider basing its Safety Stand-Down Day activities on OSHA’s Safe + Sound campaign, which focuses on three pillars that form a strong health and safety program: management leadership, worker participation, and a systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards. ISRI’s safety team wants to know how your company marks Safety Stand-Down Day. Click HERE to send photos and a description of what you and your teammates did. For more information, contact ISRI’s safety team at isrisafety@isri.org
