First, Livingston Helps Community with Tornado Damage

On Tuesday the 14th of March, First Presbyterian Church of Livingston, members of the Delta Chi Fraternity and other volunteers joined forces to help neighbors in Sumter County. In the town of Emelle 20 volunteers descended upon the debris field left by the recent tornados that damaged and destroyed homes in that community. With hard work and enthusiasm these volunteers, including County Commissioner Mrs. Drucilla Jackson, property owner Ollie Mae Watson and her cousin worked to move debris from the properties to the road side for removal. This is the third time First Presbyterian Church members and volunteers have worked to clear these properties to help these people begin to rebuild and put their lives back in order. There are plans for more workdays soon.

Living Waters for the World

Contaminated water and poor handwashing cause illness every day, but you know that doesn’t have to be the case. Approximately 1,090 Living Waters for the World partners have experienced the life-changing effects of clean water and health education thanks to your support.

That’s why I wanted you to know about a special giving opportunity we have lined up. In honor of World Water Day, the first $20,000 given online March 22, 2023 will be matched! It's a wonderful opportunity to amplify your impact and send a message of hope during these difficult times.

Below is a very special video, Light of the World, lifting up those we serve, with music provided by Lauren Daigle. Click the image below to see the video and let’s celebrate what God is doing in the world through our partnership.

Selma Disaster Relief

Many of you generous people have asked how to help out in Selma. Currently we have a team of people investigating our Presbytery's best strategic approach to long term assistance in Selma. In the meantime if you wish to make a gift for the rebuilding of Selma, we recommend the Black Belt Community Foundation. We recommend this because the Black Belt Community Foundation is a coalition of all the stakeholders in the Black Belt and are more intimately aware of the needs of the region. You may donate at the website below:
