Whether it is a change in leadership or a changing community, leading a congregation through change is both challenging and rewarding. It takes knowledge, skill, resilience and spiritual strength to navigate the waters of change in a way that leaders and congregations thrive. This training is for individuals who are considering ministry in temporary settings (as an interim, transitional or designated pastor) or are experiencing more.

Matthew 25

What is a Matthew 25 church?
Matthew 25:31–46 calls all of us to actively engage in the world around us, so our faith comes alive and we wake up to new possibilities. Convicted by this passage, both the 222nd and 223rd General Assemblies (2016 and 2018) exhorted the PC(USA) to act boldly and compassionately to serve people who are hungry, oppressed, imprisoned or poor.

If your church has recently become a Matthew 25 church, would you please let the Presbytery office know? You may email Tammy to confirm. Also, please register on the Matthew 25 website below and your church will receive a packet of resources from PMA:

Teaching Elders and clerks of session,
The Presbytery’s Executive Council has approved a mission project, Project Empathy, in which we are trying to raise $50,000 to eliminate $5 million of medical debt in 10 counties in the Black Belt. One dollar donated eliminates $100 of debt.
We are asking your help in publicizing this Project to your churches and members. Below is a Zoom video about Project Empathy. It is 4 minutes long and can be used on your church’s online worship service, Facebook page, etc. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Thank you for your help.
