Wilcox County Annemanie Project Update

The renovation of the Principal’s House at AnneManie continues. Ralls Coston visited the site on September 17, 2026. Much has been accomplished. Brick foundation has been installed under the front porch, and brick steps have been installed. All windows in the house, on both floors, have been replaced. Sheetrock has been installed in all the rooms. Both bathrooms have been completed. Some of the kitchen cabinets have been installed. Also, new vinyl, imitation wood flooring has been installed on the first floor. New flooring installation has begun on the second floor. The pavilion, with a sink, has been built.

There is still much to be done. New vinyl siding has been installed on half of the house. The electrical outlets need to be covered. Electricity is connected in the house.

The covered garden for hydroponic growing has been installed. The fall crops were being planted in four outside plots while I was there.

MBPC has an open position for an Office Administrative Assistant.

Mountain Brook Presbyterian Church is seeking a part-time Office Administrator to become the organizational hub of our church office. MBPC is a warm, family-oriented congregation of approximately 140 members, supported by a small and collaborative staff. This is an important role for someone who enjoys helping people, bringing order to details, communicating clearly, and making a meaningful contribution to the life of a church.

We are looking for more than someone who can complete a task list. The right person will begin by learning our systems and rhythms, then grow into a trusted and proactive partner who notices what needs attention and helps move it forward. Strong organization, good judgment, comfort with technology, discretion, initiative, and a sense of humor are all important. Church-office experience is welcome but not required; curiosity, reliability, warmth, and the ability to learn matter greatly.

The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The position begins with 10 paid days off each year, with additional flexibility possible when responsibilities and workflow are planned for in advance.

Interested candidates should submit a résumé and brief letter of interest to info@mbpcusa.org by September 15, 2026.
