Did you know that every Great Hearts Northern Oaks parent or guardian is automatically a member of the Parent Service Organization (PSO)? Welcome! 

Our Mission 

The mission of the Parent Service Organization at Great Hearts Northern Oaks is to provide support to the teachers and staff who guide our children daily in the pursuit of truth, beauty, and goodness. We do this by providing volunteers on campus as well as off-campus support, special events, and room/grade-level representatives.

What does the PSO do? We coordinate and support…

• Community building events: Family Fall Festival (K-6th) and Fiestaval (K-12th)
• Used Uniform Store
• Spirit Wear and Griffin Shop
• 3 PSO-sponsored Teacher Luncheons
• Support for the monthly luncheons, funded by grade-level parent donations
• Teacher Appreciation Week
• The Snowflake Campaign (optional cash bonus from parents to teachers)
• Monthly coffee truck visits for our teachers funded by our Used Uniform Store
• Lower School Committees that support the Copy Room, Front Desk, Library, Lunchroom, Spirit & Social Committee, and Yearbook
• Upper School Grade Leads and volunteers that support the library, textbook covering, dances, curriculum events, field day, drama productions, and art shows. 
• Short-notice help
• Lower School Room Representatives 
• And more!

How is this funded?

The PSO is funded primarily through Spirit Wear purchases, Used Uniform sales, and proceeds from community events. We provide opportunities to engage rather than asking you to fundraise. Every purchase and event ticket helps us invest directly back into our school by supporting our teachers, strengthening our campus, and creating opportunities for our families to connect. None of this would be possible without our amazing parent community.

Welcome friends and new faces! 

I hope you all had a fantastic summer. As we prepare to begin the school year, I would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to new families and say how excited I am to see all of our returning Griffin families again soon. 

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside all of you for one final year as the PSO President. This is my family’s 7th year at GHNO, and my boys are looking forward to 6th and 3rd grades. I cannot express enough how deeply grateful I am for this community. The friendships and memories we have built will last far beyond the GHNO walls. This is a special place, and I am blown away by the countless ways you all show up. You make a difference, whether you serve once, regularly, or support from the sidelines. You are truly amazing, and I am honored to continue building this parent organization and to serve our wonderful teachers alongside each of you. 

2026-2027 PSO Leadership Team 

Upper School Vice President: Sari Hartzler

We are thrilled to welcome Sari Hartzler to the PSO leadership team! Over the years, Sari has served as a Griffin Shop Co-Lead, Gala Committee member, Grade Level lead, Fiestaval Decor Lead, athletics volunteer, and more. Her eye for detail, calm presence, creativity, and intentionality are a tremendous asset to our team. The Hartzler family is entering their 7th year at GHNO with 11th-, 10th-, 8th-, and 6th-graders, and we are incredibly grateful for her gracious leadership and service. 

Lower School Vice President: Kelsey Weiss

We are excited to welcome Kelsey Weiss back for her second year as the Lower School Vice President! A familiar and friendly face on campus, Kelsey leads with a genuine heart for people and service. Last year, she volunteered regularly at the Front Desk and at school events, always stepping in wherever needed. Her encouraging presence and willingness to serve made a meaningful impact on our school community. The Weiss family is entering their 4th year at GHNO with an incoming 3rd grader. We are grateful for Kelsey’s continued leadership in the Lower School and look forward to another wonderful year.

Treasurer: Regina Walshak 

We are delighted to welcome Regina Walshak back for another year as PSO Treasurer! Last year, Regina expertly managed nearly $100,000 in PSO transactions while ensuring our organization remained financially organized and accountable. In addition to her work behind the scenes, Regina volunteered regularly on campus and was always willing to step in wherever she was needed. The Walshak family is entering their 3rd year at GHNO with a 2nd grader and an incoming kindergartner. Her dedication, reliability, and servant heart make her an invaluable member of our leadership team, and we are thankful to have her back this year.

In addition to our officers, we have an incredible group of returning and new parents serving as committee leads and grade level representatives. Their willingness to lead helps make everything we do possible.

Whether you have an hour to give or want to take on a leadership role, we'd love to help you find a place to get involved. No act of service is too small. We truly have a place for everyone!
