POSTPONED: New requirements for NIH Biosketch

To further support a successful transition to the Common Forms, NIH is postponing the May 25, 2025 implementation for all applications and Research Performance Progress Reports (RPPRs). NIH will issue future Guide Notices outlining the new effective date and additional implementation details as they are finalized. NIH applicants and recipients must continue to use the current NIH Biosketch and Other Support format pages for applications, Just-in-Time (JIT) and RPPRs.

Impact of Executive Orders

For questions related to the impact of the new Presidential Executive Orders on federally funded research, the Office of the Vice Provost for Research is making current information and guidance available via the homepage of the Office of Research Services (ORS).

The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research Emerging Leader Award

Submission deadline: May 5, 2025

The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research is now accepting letters of intent for their Emerging Leader Award program. These grants are awarded to outstanding early career investigators to support high-impact, high-risk projects that are distinct from their current research portfolio.

NVIDIA Academic Grant Program

Submission deadline: June 30, 2025

NVIDIA’s Academic Grant Program has an open call for research proposals to advance work in three new interest areas: generative AI training and model development, generative AI alignment and inferencing, and simulation and modeling. The call for proposals for each interest area includes eligibility information, compute resources available to request (including DGX Spark, RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell, and A100 GPU hours), and submission instructions, including a required proposal template.

PSOM Limited Application - Brain Research Foundation Scientific Innovations Award

Submission deadline: April 22, 2025

The Brain Research Foundation has invited the University to nominate one senior faculty member (Associate or Full Professor) to submit a Letter of Intent for the Scientific Innovations Award. The Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) is managing the final candidate review and selection process. Each school within the University may put forth one nominee.

PSOM Limited Application - W. W. Smith Charitable Trust Research Awards

Submission deadline: April 29, 2025

The W. W. Smith Charitable Trust funds basic science research in the areas of heart disease, cancer and AIDS. Each school within the University may nominate one applicant for each of the three research categories. The Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) will determine the final candidates to represent the University.

OVPR Limited Application - Burroughs Wellcome Fund: Climate and Health Excellence Centers (CHEX)

Submission deadline: May 20, 2025

The University has been invited to nominate one center proposal for the Burroughs Wellcome Fund Climate and Health Excellence Centers (CHEX) Award Program. The Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) will determine the final nominee to represent the University.

The University has been invited to submit one proposal for each of the two W. M. Keck Research Program grant categories for the June 2026 grant cycle: (1) Medical Research and (2) Science & Engineering. The Edward Mallinckrodt, Jr. Foundation supports early-stage biomedical investigators engaged in basic and translational research that has the potential to make fundamental advances in biomedical science. AIRFoundry Seed Grants

Submission deadline: April 18, 2025

The AI-driven RNA BioFoundry (AIRFoundry) is excited to announce its Call for Proposals for Seed Grants to support innovative research, education, and applications of RNA technologies. These grants provide up to $10,000 per award, covering AIRFoundry services such as RNA synthesis, lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation and screening, and expert consultation.

Basser Center Postdoctoral Fellowship Program Request for Applications

Submission deadline: May 30, 2025 by 5:00 PM ET

The Basser Center for BRCA announces the Basser Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (BPFP). BPFP will provide financial for a postdoctoral fellow for up to three years. Applicants can come from any discipline. However, the research proposed for their postdoctoral training must be ultimately related to improving care for patients with BRCA1/2 mutations.
