Kissick Family Foundation Announces Funding Opportunity in FTD

Letter of Intent deadline: November 1, 2024

The Milken Institute is excited to announce the launch of the second cycle of the Kissick Family Foundation Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) Grant Program. The RFP calls for basic science or early-stage translational research projects that focus on building a fundamental understanding of sporadic FTD. The Kissick Family Foundation, with guidance from the Milken Institute Science Philanthropy Accelerator for Research and Collaboration (SPARC), welcomes proposals requesting up to $500K over 2 years.

The Doris Duke Foundation Announces the Collective to Strengthen Pathways for Health Research

Submission deadline: November 8, 2024

The Collective is seeking to bring greater attention and resources to breakthrough health research to improve how we prevent and manage disease. We are now inviting organizations to re-imagine research for better health and consolidate a community at the vanguard of innovation. Selected organizations will each host a multi-sector symposium informed by the local health context.

New Open Call: Action for Women’s Health, a $250M Global Open Call

Submission deadline: December 3, 2024

Pivotal, a Melinda French Gates organization, launched Action for Women’s Health, a $250 million global open call that will fund organizations around the world that are improving women’s mental and physical health. Action for Women’s Health – managed in partnership with Lever for Change – will support organizations of diverse geographies, sizes, perspectives, and approaches that are united by their work to improve the mental and physical health of women.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) announces the opening of the Specialized Center of Research (SCOR) program

Submission deadline: December 6, 2024

2025 CSL Research Acceleration Initiative

CSL’s Research Acceleration Initiative aims to fast-track discovery of innovative biotherapies through partnerships between CSL and global research organizations. Burroughs Wellcome Fund Postdoctoral Enrichment Program

The Postdoctoral Diversity Enrichment Program (PDEP) provides $60,000 over three years to support the career development activities for underrepresented minority postdoctoral fellows in a degree-granting institution in the United States or Canada whose training and professional development are guided by mentors committed to helping them advance to stellar careers in biomedical or medical research.

The Institute of Structural Biology 2025-2026 Pilot Grant Program

Submission deadline: December 1, 2024

The Institute of Structural Biology (ISB) announces its annual Pilot Grant Program in Structural Biology. The program aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and advance Structural Biology techniques. It promotes appreciation for Structural Biology in fundamental and translational biomedical science, building a community of users at UPenn through shared Core facilities. The grant requires collaboration between at least two investigators on interdisciplinary projects.

Diabetes Research Center Pilot & Feasibility Program Call for Proposals

Submission deadline: December 9, 2024

The Diabetes Research Center (DRC) of the University of Pennsylvania is now accepting applications for support to perform pilot and feasibility studies in diabetes and related endocrine and metabolic disorders. The P&F program is intended to support new investigators and established investigators new to diabetes research. Funding level maximum is $75,000, which includes up to 25k for use in DRC/IDOM core facilities.

ARPA-H launches program to develop tear-based biomarker measurement platform

Submission deadline: TBD

ARPA-H announces a new funding opportunity through the Ocular Laboratory for Analysis of Biomarkers (OCULAB) program. OCULAB seeks to develop a tear-based biomarker measurement system that can be inserted into the tear duct for continuous health monitoring and provide ultra-precise medication dosing for personalized treatment via a closed-loop delivery system. ARPA-H Announces New Funding Opportunity to Make AI-enabled Tools More Reliable

Submission deadline: January 15, 2025

ARPA-H has launched the PRECISE-AI (Performance and Reliability Evaluation for Continuous Modifications and Useability of Artificial Intelligence) program to ensure AI-enabled medical tools stay accurate and reliable over time.
