PSR families,

Happy new year! No, I haven't flipped an extra page on my calendar, Advent marks the liturgical new year in the Church. We have so many great events happening at St. Joseph this Advent, as we prepare for the coming of Jesus---events for kids, parents, and the whole family! Plan to join us for one, or more, of these events.

Parents, mark your calendars to join us for our traditional Living Nativity on Wednesday, December 18th at 6 pm. Class will begin at 5:15 as usual, with all students joining our PSR community at 6 to remember the meaning of Christmas.

Next Monday, December 9th we remember the Immaculate Conception of Mary. This is a Holy Day of Obligation and we hope to see you at Mass. Check out our Mass times below.

Stop in to the Kick-Off to Advent immediately following class on December 4th!

See the lighting of the Christmas tree, enter to win an attendance prize, and enjoy some holiday entertainment.

Are you going to Kickoff to Advent? RSVP yes and your child will be ready for pick up at 6:20.

Luke 3:1-6

This Sunday we hear of the preaching of John the Baptist. He proclaims the message that we are to 'prepare the way of the Lord'. While he preached that message many years ago, we too need to examine how we can prepare our hearts, homes, and communities to be ready to welcome Jesus. We are called to root out any obstacles to grace, areas of sin, or hindrances to our freedom to follow God more closely.

On the way to Mass:  What do you think it looks like to prepare your heart for Jesus?

On the way home from Mass: What is one thing we can do as a family to make it easier to follow Jesus?

Challenge of the Week: At dinner share about a habit you've developed that has helped bring order to your spiritual, physical, emotional life. Is there a habit you can work on as a family this week to bring greater order and peace to your home?
