PSR families,

Today, Monday, December 9th we remember the Immaculate Conception of Mary. This is a Holy Day of Obligation, if you haven't made it to Mass already there is still a 7 pm at St. Joseph!

We've got some great events this week to help families prepare for Christmas. Wednesday evening, Seminarian Alex will be speaking at ENCOUNTER--a night of Adoration, praise and worship, and a brief talk. Confessions are also available. The night starts at 7 and runs until 8:30pm, you can stop in for a few minutes of prayer, or stay the whole time!

This weekend the Daughters of St. Paul will be selling books and other gifts after Masses. I encourage you to come ready to pick up a book for anyone on your gift list---they have great selections for children, adolescents, and adults!

Parents, mark your calendars to join us for our traditional Living Nativity on Wednesday, December 18th at 6 pm. Class will begin at 5:15 as usual, with all students joining our PSR community at 6 to remember the meaning of Christmas.

Gentlemen, drive in for a night of community, faith, and food!

Luke 3:10-18

This Sunday we hear John the Baptist teaching his followers. He instructs them to live and embrace honesty in their work and to be satisfied with what they already have received. John tells his followers that he is not the Christ, that one is coming after him that will baptize with the Holy Spirit and with fire, that is Jesus. John shares a message with his followers that is applicable to each of us today---that we are called to repent of our sins and cultivate gratitude for the gifts we have been given.

On the way to Mass:  Who is someone that encourages you to live well?

On the way home from Mass: How do you think the people in the Gospel reacted to being told they needed to repent and change their ways?

Challenge of the Week: Is there a vice that God might be calling your family to address as you prepare for Christmas? Perhaps impatience with one another in the morning or leaving chores unfinished, make an intentional plan to practice the opposing virtue.
