PSR families,

May you be safe and warm this snowy day---we hope to see you tomorrow!

Looking Ahead:

Feb 19th: Class

Feb 26th: Class

March 5th: Ashes and Class

With recent snow days, we are modifying our class on March 5th which is Ash Wednesday. We will be opening our time together with a Liturgy of the Word followed by the distribution of ashes. All parents, siblings, and friends are welcome to join us! This will not be a full Mass, since Ash Wednesday is NOT a Holy Day of Obligation. Following our prayer service, students will return to their classroom for a make-up lesson. Dismissal will be as usual at 6:30pm.

While we are still in Ordinary Time, Lent is looming around the corner in March!

We hope to see you at our upcoming Fish Frys.

Have a student needing volunteer hours? Love to bake? Click the flyer below to sign up to volunteer, and back this year we are accepting NUT FREE homemade desserts. Feel free to drop your desserts off at the PSR front desk on Wednesday evenings, or W-Fr from 7:30-3:30 in the CCC.

We have a couple different opportunities during Lent that we want to invite all parents to attend.

Seven Deadly Sins—Seven Lively Virtues.

Join Bishop Robert Barron for a challenging presentation of Seven Deadly Sins, those great spiritual blocks that inhibit our flourishing in relationship with God and with one another. Bishop Barron shows us how to counteract those seven sinful patterns through a conscious process of opposition which are the ‘seven lively virtues.’

Sessions and dates:

February 26: Pride & Humility

March 12: Envy & Admiration

Luke 6:27-38

This week we hear Jesus proclaiming to us to love our enemies and do good to those who hate us. For if we only love those who love us and do good towards us, do not even sinners do the same? These words of Jesus are very challenging, for adults and kids alike! We are called to live virtue, not just when it is easy or convenient, but in each moment of our lives---especially when we are frustrated, annoyed, or angry.

On the way to Mass: How do you think Jesus wants us to treat others? What about when we are mad, or upset, or sad?

On the way home from Mass: How could today look different if you treated everyone like you want to be treated today?

Challenge of the Week: Copy down Luke 6:31 and place it somewhere your family will see it every day this week!
