If any 7th and 8th graders need their next books, they are available in the parish office lobby. If you have any books you finished using, they can be dropped in the drop box.

Luke 6:27-38

This week we hear Jesus warning us to notice the beam in our own eyes, and remove it, before trying to take out the splinter in our neighbor's eye. And encourages us that good trees bear good fruit, while rotten trees bear bad fruit. He calls us to acknowledge our sins and shortcomings, before we point out and correct our neighbor's flaws. Jesus doesn't deny that the splinter is there, but reminds us to be humble first and foremost. At times we will have to offer correction, but we should always do so in a spirit of humility and honesty of our own flaws as well.

On the way to Mass: Do you think people like to be corrected? What makes it easier?

On the way home from Mass: What do you think is harder: correcting someone else, or correcting yourself? What does Jesus say to do?

Challenge of the Week: When you pray together this week, make time to ask for forgiveness, acknowledging the times you did not love well. I was impatient today getting out the door, please forgive me.
