Luke 5:4-11

This week we hear of Jesus inviting Simon to "put out into the deep". Simon is reluctant at first, having been fishing all night with nothing to show for his efforts. Yet something in Simon spurs him on to obey, and through his act of obedience was granted an abundance of fish! So much so that his boat was in danger of sinking, so he called over some friends to help haul in the catch. Once they reached shore, Simon, Andrew, James, and John all left their nets and followed Jesus.

On the way to Mass: Do you find it hard to be obedient?

On the way home from Mass: After Simon caught a bunch of fish Jesus told him he would be "catching men", what do you think he meant by that?

Challenge of the Week: Pick one person or family to pray for this week who could use some 'abundance' from the Lord. Pray for them each day, that the Lord may bless them with all they need!
