John 18:33-37
This Sunday we hear Jesus's interaction with Pilate that takes place shortly before his death. It may seem strange to be speaking of Jesus' death shortly before we celebrate his birth. This Sunday we celebrate the Solemnity of Jesus Christ, King of the Universe---the final Sunday of the liturgical year. In Jesus' exchange, we hear again that Jesus is a King not of an earthly kingdom but a heavenly one. As the liturgical year comes to a close, we remember Jesus' death and that we too will pass from this life.
On the way to Mass: What does a king do? How does he act?
On the way home from Mass: What would it look like if Jesus were King of your life?
Challenge of the Week: Make a special dessert to celebrate Jesus as King of your family!
