Good morning PSR families,

This year we are taking on Box of Joy as our service focus for this fall semester. Box of Joy is an outreach of Cross Catholic Outreach, which provides Christmas Gifts to children in developing countries like Haiti, Malawi, and the Dominican Republic. Our goal as a PSR is to be able to fill 1 box per class---that is 14 boxes for kids in need, and if that is too easy, we are STRETCHING to 20 boxes. Check out the list below of suggested items. Students can bring an item to PSR any Wednesday of October, with the 30th being our final collection night.

Looking for help in navigating your teen's social media use? Desiring to help your teen grow in positive self-esteem? We invite you to join us for a conversation with Jen Meehan, Pastoral Ministry Coordinator of the Southern Vicariate! We will meet during PSR time on November 13th in the Corpus Christi Center. Hope to see you there!

The Archdiocese just announced a partnership with Hallow, a Catholic app, to help all encounter God in prayer. You can get a one-year premium subscription for just $1! Click the flyer below for more details.

Looking for a new way to bring the faith into your home or car ride? Check out "Cuddle Up: Catholic Storytime" a new podcast! On this podcast Catholic authors read their own works; a perfect way to prepare for Mass, spend some quiet time in the afternoon, or settle down for bed. Simple turn on and enjoy! Or purchase the book and teach your pre-reader to follow along.

See you on Sunday, October 20th!

We will be exploring what is a Community of Faith and how we are called to communion.

Keep working on your chapters, and bring your assessments or complete them online before Sunday.

Mark 10: 35,37-45

This Sunday we hear of James and John asking Jesus to sit at his right and left in the kingdom of Heaven. Jesus reminds James and John, and all the apostles, that 'whoever wishes to be great among you will be your servant; whoever wishes to be first among you will be the slave of all." Jesus tells us that our leadership, our authority, should not be used for self-gain or self-promotion, but to serve and build up the good of all. The gifts we have been given by God; our power, wealth, leadership, etc. is shared with us that we may use it to bring those around us closer to God.

On the way to Mass:  What makes someone a good leader?

On the way home from Mass: How can you use your gifts to help others?

Challenge of the Week: Let us work on building each other up this week. During family time; at a meal, in the car, or bedtime prayers share 1 thing you admire about each member of the family.
