Mark 10: 46-52
This Sunday we hear the story of Bartimaeus, a blind man. Bartimaeus was begging along the side of the road when we he heard a commotion. People were passing him by speaking of Jesus of Nazareth. Upon hearing that Jesus is approaching, Bartimaeus calls out to Jesus, "Son of David, have pity on me". Jesus heard his cries, and called Bartimaeus to come to him. He springs up at once, and goes to Jesus. When he arrives, Jesus asks him "What do you want me to do for you?" and Jesus heals his blindness.
On the way to Mass: What is something you are really hoping for?
On the way home from Mass: How do you think Bartimaeus felt when people told him to be quiet when he was calling out for Jesus?
Challenge of the Week: Let us bring our desires to Jesus this week. Place a bowl on your kitchen table to collect prayer petitions in throughout the week. Whenever you are gathered at table, take a moment to lift up those petitions to God.
