  • We raised over $56k for our school murals and stage glow-up during our all-volunteer-run Jogging with Jeffrey fundraiser.
  • We hosted families at our JWJ after party, where guests were “Thrilled” with an epic performance by parents and staff, as well as the SLIMING of our beloved principal, Sra. Ventura.
  • We dined together while in costume at McTeacher Night and raised over $1,000 for JG!

Principal's Message

GLOBAL LEADERS IN ACTION – TOILETRY DRIVE, NOVEMBER 3–14

As part of our Global Leaders program, one of our fifth-grade students, Clara Ellis, has taken the initiative to organize a schoolwide toiletry drive as her service project. This effort is a wonderful example of our students putting leadership and empathy into action!

From November 3–14, Jeffreys Grove will be collecting toiletries to support people experiencing homelessness. Donations will be distributed at Oak City Cares through a student-run booth led by Clara and some of her peers. The goal is to collect at least 250 items to help provide individuals in need with essentials that can last through the year.

Students can bring donations to grade-level collection boxes in the main lobby. The grade that collects the most items will celebrate with an ice cream party!

We are so proud of Clara for her leadership, compassion, and commitment to making the world a better place—one act of kindness at a time. Thank you for supporting our Global Leaders and helping them create meaningful change in our community.

Support the Backpack Buddies Program

A message from St Mark's United Methodist Church, which handles the food donations for our Backpack Buddies program.

We invite parents and children to volunteer at our Family Packing event on Tuesday, November 11th, from 1-3 pm at St. Mark’s UMC.

This is a teacher workday for WCPSS, so if you are looking for something fun to do, please come by. We’ll have our food pantry open for packing – come during that time as your family’s schedule allows. No need to sign up for this event, just show up! St. Mark’s UMC is located at 4801 Six Forks Rd. The Backpack Buddies food pantry is located downstairs in Room 6 of our main building.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the church at joann@stmarksraleigh.org.

As always, thanks for your support as we partner to feed hungry students. We believe in teaching kids to have a heart for service-- Your example will be a blessing to us!

Can't volunteer but still want to help?

Please consider donating to St. Mark's, which directly supports the Backpack Buddies Program for Jeffreys Grove.
Cash and food donations accepted. Please visit St. Mark’s website for more information.

JGMES Spirit Night

Nervous about how to navigate another teacher workday? Our next Spirit Day (Nov. 3) will set you up for a peaceful (ish) day on Tuesday.

1️⃣First, get those kids tired with some bouncing at Big Air.

2️⃣Then, fill up those hungry tummies with dinner at Salt & Lime. That means no cooking or cleanup for you, giving you more energy to deal with kids at home the next day.

3️⃣Finally, sleep well knowing that both activities helped our wonderful school!

Be sure to mention JG at checkout so a portion (50% Big Air and 20% Salt & Lime) comes back to the PTA!
