Presidents' Message
Dear Medina Elementary School Parents,

Thank you to all of those that shared your preferences regarding the Annual Auction via our online poll! As a reminder, we are holding a special General Assembly meeting on Tuesday, September 25, at 2:00pm at School -- at this meeting, we will vote on whether to approve the budget for the Auction this year. While the votes of the many of you that shared your preferences online will be discussed at the meeting (together with the comments we received via email), it will be only the votes of those present at the meeting on the 25th that determine whether the Annual Auction budget is approved , so please make sure to attend and support the auction (or not, if that is your preference!). If you have any questions or would like to know how you can help in the short term, please contact us at presidents@medinapta.org

All the best,

Andrew & Jessica

Stand Up and Shout Out Loud...
This class is FUN!

Isn’t learning how to captivate an audience something that everyone could benefit from? Why not start at an early age when it’s easiest to grasp concepts and overcome fears. This class is all about inspiring kids to do great things! And the best part is that it is fun, too!

Through interactive games and fun activities you will learn how to:

• Stand out in a crowd using specific tips for success.
• Craft your message
• Improvise - sometimes acting goofy is the best way
to overcome fears!
• Team build and lead others

The class will culminate with an interactive presentation for family and friends.

Tiger Tough Relay Race and Obstacle Course
Dear Medina Families,
As many of you may remember, we had a wonderfully successful fundraiser in the Dance-A-Thon last year, with hundreds of people in attendance for the party on that Friday evening. I was thrilled to see so many of you involved on the night of the party as well as during the week. There must have been at least a few dozen parent volunteers helping to make this such a huge success, raising over $60,000.00.
This year, our goal is bigger, better, and muddier !!! Over the past few months we have been planning an event to challenge all washing machines and basin sinks. We would like to proudly introduce the first ever Tiger Tough Relay Race and Obstacle Course. We have been working with the city of Medina and the Parks Department to incorporate Medina park into our plans. Like last year, the kids and staff will be creating projects supporting our event. Also like last year, we will have a DJ, food trucks, and prizes. We are also fortunate to have luxury home builder Todd Lozier, of Lochwood Lozier Construction, in charge of constructing many of the obstacles.
There will be additional details to follow, but the most important message I would like to convey is the importance of having you parents involved in any way shape or form. It could be running the race alongside your child, helping with set up, encouraging kids to work together, and finding whatever way you can to support our kids, school, and community.
There will be more details to follow, along with sponsorship opportunities and ways to donate (both time and money).
Lastly, if you have any questions, or suggestions of ways you can help add to this event, please send us an email atian.olsen@rate.com or cjmonty72@gmail.com
Looking forward to another fantastic school year!
Ian Olsen and Carrie Montigue.

Runners' Club
Please join us every Wednesday and Friday morning from 7:30-8:00am. You do not need to sign up please just show up before school and walk or run. Many studies show that children who regularly exercise score higher on tests and have lower signs of ADHD. We track the laps the children run and give them small foot tokens for every 5 miles run.

Runners' Club will start September 12 and we will try to run until early November. PLEASE NOTE: We do not run in the rain.

If you have any questions please email me at   cjmonty72@gmail.com
