Recent Changes to SAM.gov

If your business is registered in SAM.gov, you might receive an email notifying you that, due to a recent change from the 2017 NAICS list to the 2022 NAICS list, you will need to choose new NAICS codes for your business. That may or may not be true. Many SAM.gov users whose NAICS codes are still valid have been receiving these emails.

As of October 1, 2022, SAM.gov began using the updated 2022 NAICS list. There were some changes to the 2022 list, and those changes can be viewed here. In order to check your NAICS codes for validity under the 2022 NAICS list, visit this website and search for your NAICS codes in the 2022 search bar.

If you receive an email telling you to update your NAICS codes, first check them for 2022 validity, as described above. Then, contact your PTAC counselor to schedule a quick SAM.gov renewal. By renewing your SAM.gov registration, your account will be refreshed, and your NAICS will be "updated."
