Scouts and Scouters from across our Council have been doing their part to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Together, we have worked to ensure that everyone wears a mask, participates in social distancing, and keeps their hands and frequently touched surfaces clean. Because of our collective efforts, the City of Chicago and Council are moving into Phase IV of the “Protecting Chicago” reopening framework.

Even though we are moving forward and reducing the spread, we must still be vigilant. Therefore, as your unit participates in events, we require that all of the following precautions be taken:
  • All indoor gatherings are limited to 50 or less people - including leaders, Scouts, and family members.
  • Everyone should practice social distancing and wear a face mask.*
  • Youth protection guidelines must still be followed.
  • All outdoor gatherings are limited to 100 or less people- including leaders, Scouts, and family members.
  • Everyone should practice social distancing and wear a face mask, except during physical activity.*
  • Youth protection guidelines must still be followed.
  • Frequently touched surfaces should be cleaned after each use.
  • All Scouts, leaders, and family members should stay home if they feel ill or have come into contact with someone with COVID-19.

For the protection of our members (including our youth members), volunteer leaders and chartered partners, and PTAC and the BSA, the following forms will be required for Scouting events occurring after July 15, 2020:

The purpose of these precautionary procedures and steps is to mitigate certain risks and liabilities that unit leaders and others may be exposed to in connection with the restarting of Scouting in PTAC while facilitating the ability to provide a first-class program to the youth we serve.

As we continue to reopen our Scout programs, we are pleased to announce updated rental information for Camp Napowan, Owasippe Scout Reservation, Camp Frank S. Betz, and Camp Lakota. For full information on camp rentals, please review our PTAC Camp Rental Updates Document.
