Out of the Shadows: The Faces and Places We Never See is the topic for the next program in the series, “Unseen St. Pete: Hidden Faces & Unknown Places." From Elder Jordan’s early housing courts built in historically African-American mid-town to the popular and trendy Birchwood on Beach Drive, built in the 1920’s by a female developer, the program will explore the challenges that have been faced by female and minority developers and how those issues still resonate today.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Our volunteers are amazing and we are so incredibly thankful for the work each of you do for this organization. We therefore want to highlight one volunteer for each newsletter and tell you about the great ways they have been helping PTB and St. Pete!
Erica Rintoul (pictured to the left, volunteering at Movies in the Park) joined PTB this past November and has become a huge part of our volunteer team. She and her husband Dave moved from Seattle to St. Pete a little under a year ago and instantly got involved in our community. Erica has helped us with so much in her short time here, including: planning, programming, Saturday Morning Markets, Porch Parties, membership, committees, and Movies in the Park.
Erica recently went above and beyond and spoke to our city council, saying NO to Bezu and advocating for our downtown. Thank you Erica, for all you do!
CONGRATULATIONS!
Our very own Peter Belmont has been recognized by WMNF Community Radio as a Homegrown Hero ! He and other heroes were honored for sowing the seeds of equality, peace, and social, economic, and environmental justice here at home. Congratulations, Peter!

Exciting news!  PTB has been awarded a  Bicycle Friendly Business  silver level designation by the League of American Bicyclists' for the bike-friendly environment we have made for visitors! Join us for a bike tour this fall!
Don’t forget to download the free Florida Stories App so you can enjoy the downtown audio tour, Walk St. Petersburg by Florida Humanities Council . A great way to learn more about our special city and its history.
