This month Parallel Technologies participated in the Minnesota High Tech Association Golf Outing. This was an opportunity to mingle with other industry leading companies in the technology field as well as support the MHTA Foundation's STEM Scholarship Fund. The MHTA Foundation awards more than ten scholarships each year to Minnesota college students pursuing degrees in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields. The event took place Tuesday, July 21st at The Wilds Golf Club in Prior Lake.

"It was a perfect day for golf and a great way for our members to support the next generation of science and technology workers," said Andrew Wittenborg, MHTA's director of outreach. "We're very grateful for the continued support of our work in this area."

Each year the Tekne Awards shine a spotlight on Minnesota's technology industry. What are the 3 Key Steps to Consider Before you Make Changes to Your Data Center?

1. Understand your Corporate Goals

2. Understand Business IT Requirements

3. Understand the Facility Requirements

"Slow down to speed up" should be our mantra when making any decisions regarding data center strategy. Whether build, colo or cloud, we always recommend starting with a holistic view of the organization, diving into the applications and IT platforms, and then moving into the reliability need and the sizing of the M&E infrastructure. Even on the most tactical of projects, you should have a data center roadmap. Slowing down could be the best decision any organization makes in order to allow them to speed up for the future.
